“
I remember many, many years ago when I was 20 I met Miki Bereyni at a gig in the PowerHaus (Angel, London - now, sadly, a Halifax bank!?).
I remember drinking very hard with my friends in order to build up the courage to speak to her.
I went to the toilet, came out and bumped into her, and immediately blurted out, "I don't wish to sound presumptuous, but has anyone ever said, "Hey Miki, you're so fine/ you're so fine / you blow my mind / Hey Miki! Hey Miki"", I do believe I actually clapped my hands during the "Hey Miki" part. Oh for shame!
Miki was absolutely fantastic, because she replied, "No! People usually say "Oh Miki, you're so ****!"" then engaged me in conversation on the subject of her dislike for Everett True (Melody Maker journalist).
She was incredibly sweet for engaging in conversation with a very drunken 20 year old.
Cheers Miki!
