KelC is your average girl with an extraordinary dream. Since the day she could hum along to the radio, KelC knew she wanted to be a singer. Growing up in the small city of Hazleton, Pennsylvania KelC wasn’t accustomed to much Country music. The old coal town had gone from its old-fashioned Country lifestyle to a more fast-paced pop culture. It was KelC’s grandparents that introduced her to the music she would come to love.
When she was around 10 years old, KelC was enrolled in singing classes at the DeMelfi School of Music in Hazleton. She took lessons from various teachers and even appeared on television where she sang “Hopelessly Devoted to You” from the musical Grease and “Blue” by famous Country singer, LeAnn Rimes.
KelC also had the wonderful privilege of singing with the Country/Western band “Hickory Rose” when she was around 12 years old at local bazaars and other venues. Her last performance with the band was at a church bazaar where KelC got a standing ovation for singing Loretta Lynn’s hit “Coal Miner’s Daughter”.
Over the years, KelC has performed leading roles in numerous musical plays with Back Stage Productions and PTPA Theatre in Hazleton. Some of these productions include Sharpay in Disney’s “High School Musical”, Cinderella in “Roger’s and Hammerstein’s Cinderella”, and the narrator in “Joseph’s Technicolor Dreamcoat”. KelC has also performed in a few profit productions including her role as Sister Leo in “Nunsense”, and as her favorite role of all time, Patsy Cline in “Always…Patsy Cline”.
Currently, KelC is working on an 11-song album titled “Get Branded” with her manager and producer, Taylor Sappe. It will be available in the summer of 2012 and features various local songwriters. KelC also plans on working on a second 11-song rockabilly album as well as a Country Gospel album. Her music can be found on various websites including Jango Online Radio, ReverbNation, Facebook, and her main website. Her music can be downloaded on ITunes and CDbaby.
KelC is currently in the process of putting together a band and booking gigs with her guitar player, Mario Tombasco. Her dream is play on the Grand Ole Opry and eventually move to Nashville, Tennessee. She is attending college online, but is still keeping her singing dreams very much alive.
As much as she appreciates modern Country, KelC is determined to bring back that “Good Ole Country Sound” with her own unique sound she would describe as a pleasant mixture of Traditional and Contemporary Country music, using some of the flairs of her idols Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash.
For this girl, dreams only start where the sky ends.
