From: IL, United States
Genre: R&B, Soul, Pop
I am a producer, song writer, singer, saxophonist, and performer. Music has always been one of my passions. Music is my heart, my soul and I cannot imagine my life without it.
Growing up, I was exposed to a variety of music across many genres. This has lead to my eclectic style and appreciation for music. I remember listening to those r&b cuts when artists like Toni Braxton, Boyz II Men, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Jodeci, H-Town, and SWV dominated the charts. I can remember those songs at church on Sunday morning resonating in my soul and New Jack Swing groves that used to play on a summer day during a cookout. Pop songs by NSYNC, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and countless others allowed people to be free and enjoy the moment in music. Music had a depth, a meaning, and a quality that left a lasting impression in my mind…memories that I will never forget.
I started playing the saxophone in 5th grade. This sparked my interest in learning how to read, play, and perform music. Throughout school I was involved in marching band, concert band, and jazz band. In college at The Ohio State University, I began to develop my craft as a writer and music producer by taking courses in music, voice, piano, and production. This passion lead to a minor in Music.
After graduating from Ohio State, I decided to move to Chicago, a larger city with more opportunities in music. It was here that I became a part of the R&b trio Mi-Tyme (My Time). With the members of Mi-Tyme, I continue to use my talents as a singer, writer and producer.
Some of my favorite musical genres are R&b, gospel, pop, classical and jazz; however, I can appreciate quality music no matter what genre. Some of my influences as a producer/composer are Babyface, La Reid, David Foster, Daryl Simmons, Walter Afanasieff, Linda Perry, Teddy Riley, Narada Michael Walden, Quincy Jones, Jimmy Jam , Terry Lewis, Keith Sweat, Timbaland, Missy Elliot, R.Kelly,Darkchild, Bryan Michael Cox, and Danja.
All of these experiences have lead to the launch of my music production company, AllAbtThaMusic Productions. My goal is to create quality music that will be remembered. Music that makes you laugh makes you feel good, makes you cry, makes you remember, and makes you feel alive. As a producer, I think of my job much like a painter. I create a musical landscape that allows for artists and listeners to find and interpret the meaning and essence of the track.
