Jon E. Henderson Jr.

Jon Elliott Henderson Jr. was born in Pittsburgh, PA. on December 06, 1965. His musical influences range from artists like Stevie Wonder, Pat Metheny, Led Zeppelin to Mercy Me, Jeremy Camp, and Casting Crowns. Jon has embarked on many daring pursuits over his life time. Since early childhood, Jon has loved the game of football. He started playing at the age of nine. By the age of twenty-one, Jon had lettered at Glassboro State College as a freshman. One year later, with the help of Jon Sr., Jon tried out for The B. C. Lions (C.F.L.). The tryout went great, but the team filled the ten Americans quota with the more needed postions Following that, Jon was drafted to the N.F.L. sponsored Professional Spring football league to play wide receiver for The Oregon Lightening Bolts under head coach Craig Morton. Unfortunately, the league folded due to a failed television contract with TNT. Jon then decided to pursue a career as a Chef. A little over a year later, Jon graduated from The Colorado Institute of Art at The School of Culinary Arts earning culinary certifications and an associates degree. While in culinary school, Jon found a new love. Her name is Music. So Jon co-founded and wrote most of the music for a Denver band called the Moodswingers. The band would find themselves on a great journey. They started playing at several of Denver's venues. They also started organizing several charity events featuring local talent to benifit local and national charities. At one of the events (The Concert for UNICEF) The Moodswingers were honored to perform the song "Sunshine" by the legendary classic rock band Cream with drummer, Ginger Baker. The Moodswingers also opened for Molly Hatchet, and performed at The Whiskey A Go Go and The Roxy in Hollywood, CA.. Unfortunately, as bands often do, the Moodswingers' journey ended. In 2003 Jon decided to answer an long time inward call: "to use his gifts exclusively for the Lord Jesus Christ". He started a small indie label called Jesus Loves Entertainment. Jon feels that there is not much 'God honoring entertainment and art' out there these days. In many Christian communities, being entertained is considered 'catering to the flesh', therefore too much fun! The goal at Jesus Loves Entertainment is to use the talents and gifts God has given us in ways which honor Him. We started with music and hope to expand to acting, comedy, and whatever else God has for us! Look for us in the future. We'll be making a joyful noise to the Lord! Jon also has since been Worship Leader at Calvary Chapel Green Valley Ranch in Colorado and now leads at churches who will have him and performs at various festivals and events. In Jon's own words: "Music is a God given gift to us all. Like all of His gifts, God wants us to aknowledge the One who gives. Without that, we will surely be lost. In Him, life and all it has to offer is made perfect, just as He designed it to be. From the professionals to the shower vocalist and air guitarist, music touches us, because it is one of God's many gifts to us. Focus on The One who gives, and watch how life touches you like never before. His name is Jesus, and He is waiting for you to know Him. Pray to Him. Confess that you are sinner and in need of forgiveness. Give your heart to Him and seek after Him always. The sinning might not change over night. Sadly, some sins follow us to our graves, but the moment you asked Jesus Christ into your heart all is forgiven. You are a new creation in Christ Jesus! Hallelujah (Praise God)! Let The Holy Spirit change your life. Find a good bible teaching church and get involved."
