Originally hailing from Atlanta Georgia, Jewell Fortenberry received his Bachelors of Classical Piano Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. He was featured as a guest performer for the National Black Arts festival and for the Atlanta Chapter of the National Recording Arts and sciences, performing alongside such artists as Usher and Kenny Lattimore in honor of the late Ray Charles. In 2004 the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany also presented him in a solo piano concert.
