Iona's ethereal voice and spellbinding songs take you on a voyage of discovery into the mystical world of the Nature Kingdoms. Her new album ‘Wild by Nature’ interweaves Celtic melodies, orchestral harmonies and captivating rhythms with enchanting, inspiring stories that soothe the soul. Iona’s voice alternately soars and pours through a collection of self-penned, borrowed and embellished poems. Iona’s talent for song writing is clear from her poignant lyrics that make reference to nature, legends and myths, such as her song ‘Nature’s Lament’, which is based on William Wordsworth’s ‘Early Lines in Spring’.

Drawing comparisons to Loreena McKennitt and Deva Premal, Iona’s striking voice, combined with her fresh approach to New Age music, heralds her arrival as a significant artist. The Daily Music Guide said: “Despite hailing from Sydney [Australia], Iona Leigh’s foremost years were spent in a remote [eco-village and spiritual] community in the Highlands of Scotland. Being brought up in a household where television was discouraged and the predominant musical output was her mother’s alternative [New Age] collection, she might just as well have lived two generations ago. This has melded a distinctly authentic musical output that is nevertheless accessible to all.”

These alternative influences are uniquely captured in Iona’s upcoming third album ‘Wild by Nature’ (released April 2010), produced by legendary New Age composer Medwyn Goodall. This album features Iona Leigh on lead and backing vocals, and Medwyn Goodall on Guitars, Piano, Dulcimer, Mandolin, Bass, Harp, Uilean Pipes, Flutes, Drums, and Percussion. The ten soothing and inspiring tracks are; Nature’s Lament, Elemental Spirits, Here & Now, Queen Boadicea, Colours of the Earth, Visions for Life, Banish the Storm, Eyes of the Soul, Ocean of Dreams and Prayer for Trees. Music Journalist Tim Carroll says Iona’s songs are driven by her “… deep desire to touch the mystery she sees in the world around her … This is music with magical depth."
