Inch of Dark Music

Inch of Dark is a four piece hard rock band currently hailing from Vail, Colorado. Formed in early 2010, Inch of Dark draws from Rock, Metal and Blues and spits it back in your face with modern hard rock flair. I.O.D.’s mainstream yet uncompromising original sound, characterized by the unique baritone lead vocals of Jerome Chwalek, can best be described as if Godsmack and Alice in Chains are doing shots at the bar and Black Label Society is the bartender.

I.O.D. has played the main venues of the Rocky Mountain high country (Sandbar, Loaded Joes, Three20South, Carnahan’s Tavern) as well as venues in Golden and Denver. They’ve shared the stage with Orange County punk rockers Guttermouth and the premier TOOL tribute band Schism. Inch of Dark’s main fanbase is the Vail Valley, which is no small feat being the only hard rock band in a dominant jam band market, which is why they are looking to expand more to the Denver rock scene.

In October 2011, Inch of Dark released their debut EP, Chapter No. 1 with itunes and CD sales of 100 units in its first month of release. The release couldn’t have come at a better time as it found it’s way into the hands of YES snowboards. I.O.D. was chosen to headline the “YES, it’s a Movie” after party in November at Breckenridge’s Three20South. Says an itunes reviewer, “Awesome band to listen to. Rock how it’s supposed to sound, definitely a band on the rise” five stars.

2012 will prove to be a busy year for the band; I.O.D. is currently booking shows for April as they wait for Jerome to recover from a recent elbow surgery. Material for their first full-length album is halfway complete with the goal of getting back in the studio by the end of the year to record. A Midwest tour is in the works for late June through July.
