Howard Louis Johnson (the word king) born Johnsondale, California High sierra in a lumber mill camp. At the age of 9 his first instrument was a banjo. In grammar school he played several instruments to include the upright bass, acoustic guitar, mandolin, viola, cello and violin. In his early teenager years he went on to be a drummer as well as continued to master the acoustic guitar.
After graduating high school he joined the Navy and dedicated all of his spare time to teaching and songwriting. With his passion for music founder of Rock for Youth, a non-profit organization providing musical instruments and lessons to underprivileged children. Howard with co-writer Dawn Barker has written 1200+ songs. He has received several editors choice awards for his writing. With a knack for words he has the ability to write a new song in any genre on any subject, 24/7. Creating his own unique style, originality and sound as a guitarist there isn’t anything that he can not play. He is always up for the challenge but has yet to meet his match.
