In Boston's old neighborhood of Jamaica Plain, the tracks of the Heath Street line lie unused between the hospital and the pond. Our music project began in the local bars, where Boston songwriter Scott Fruhan and Alaskan fingerstyle guitarist Karl Huth, then students at Harvard, began to craft a vivid, lyrical folk sound with catchy pop instrumentation. With both musicians now in New York City, Heath Street tells the stories of the paths trodden by millions of city-dwellers in changing neighborhoods. The band, now including Nick Donin and Nick Brown on bass and drums, plays in New York every month, drawing an average of 60 fans per show, at venues such as the Bitter End, Sidewalk Cafe, Rockwood Music Hall, Sullivan Hall, Crash Mansion, Bar Matchless, and others. Self-titled LP 2007. New album expected 2010.
