Gearoid58 Music

Gearoid was born in Europe in 1958. In his present sojourn, he finds his home in the heartland of America. Gearoid's musical style is difficult to pin down. Blues serves as the backbone of much of what he does. Yet, this genre label is a bit too narrow as a description for his sound. His approach to blues attempts to fuse other influences into a traditional electric blues context. A friend once told Gearoid his music would be well-suited for film soundtracks--low-budget Italian westerns! You be the judge. In 1998-2000 Gearoid played both guitar and bass with the Omaha-based blues band, Big Blue McCool. (The musicians would swap instruments between sets). Along with music, Gearoid has other passions and responsibilities, all of which are difficult to keep in balance. For this reason he is not currently playing live music. As Gearoid puts it, "I am in a season of life where writing my own songs and sharing them with others has become a priority. One day I may return to performing live."
