BIOGRAPHY OF FLAWLESS

Flawless, known as Stephine Denise Koonce was born October 23, 1980 and raised in Kinston, N.C. She is the youngest sibling of five who suffered a devastating loss of her mother in 1992. At age 12, the death of her mother helped her to see life at a different angle and lead her to unleash her feelings through writing poetry. Her first audience was her immediate family and close friends. Once, during her early years, she overheard her older brother and his friends free styling which inspired her to integrate her poetry with music. When Flawless was 15, she spent numerous hours alone in her bedroom writing and rapping which perfected her skills; life's grace and drama gave her much to write about. The death of her mother was so painful that she could no longer attend high school and later dropped out at the age of 16. For the next two years she focused on learning the composition of lyrics. She expressed to her family after her 18th birthday that she was highly interested in hip hop music; her main influences were female artists in the game such as MC Lyte, Yo Yo, Queen Latifah and Foxy Brown. Becoming of age by 19, the birth of her first son in 1999 brought Flawless to a different level of maturity and she dealt with the strain of being a young single mother. Flawless managed to go back to school and attended a community college near her home and receive her diploma in 2000. She then went on to take college courses while pregnant with her second son in 2001. She attended college for 2 semesters and quit due to being overwhelmed from motherhood. By age 22, she relocated her family from Kinston N.C. to Greenville N.C. with her eldest sister. With the assistance of her sister she obtained work at a local call center. In 2003, she met a co-worker that happened to be an up and coming producer. They connected instantly with the same passion for music stardom. The producer gave Flawless 5 beats. Within one month she wrote, composed, and recorded those 5 tracks with the help of an engineer from Knightdale, NC. Writing about real life experiences the producer embraced the tracks and they formed a close bond. In 2004, Flawless dropped her first 7 song album, K-Town's Finest Presents...Flawless. She re-released the album under a new title Its My World in 2005 with 3 bonus tracks. She was getting notarize for having her own style with a sound comparison of Foxy and Lil Kim. From 2005-2007, she performed in local shows from Rocky Mount to Greenville, NC making a local buzz for herself. She decided she would start her own record label, Dyminz Entertainment in 2008, with the help of research, and assistance from engineers, and producers. Since then she has worked with various artists, producers, and engineers which enabled her to grow in the business as an artist and business woman. In 2009, her artistry is still progressing her lyrics through life changes. She is inspired by her kids, the life, the death, the struggle, and the hustle. She knows first hand how hard it is being a woman and believe in God that she wont be conformed to someone else's satisfaction. She feels her music ability is Gods gift to her and thats something that she owns solely. Walking in faith, 5 years from now she hopes to have a successful recording label and production company with stable income. Her main goal is to take that last foot out of the streets and to step full force into the industry.
