Farwell is made up of 5 friends who have all dedicated their lives to playing music. The name, pronounced FAR-WELL (not farewell), comes from a lake located in Michigan, where some of the original ideas of creating music came to life. Each current member has gone through previous bands, genres, and difficult situations to finally arrive to where they are now.
The band is influenced by so many bands and genres that it is hard to pinpoint the exact sound and style that Farwell falls into. From a mix of catchy melodies that stick in your head the first time you hear them, to just enough screaming to still have your parents saying "WTF?", Farwell has reached crowds all throughout the country. Hearing almost every possible comparison to many of their own personal favorite bands, the guys feel they
are on the right track to their goals that seem not too far out of reach.
After finishing up their self-released album, "Cancer's in the Air Tonight", Farwell decided to spend the summer following the 2008 Vans Warped Tour. The band managed to travel through 33 states
hitting 35 of the 46 Warped Tour dates. The ones missed were due to running out of CDs halfway through the east coast dates and not wanting to deal with the hassle of going to Canada. Farwell also ended up winning the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands contest and got
to perform on the stage at the Detroit, MI Warped Tour date. In the end Farwell sold approximately 1,600 copies of their album and gained a countless amount of new friends and fans.
