Far Away Planes
Biography

From: FL, United States

Genre: Alternative/Alt. Rock, Indie Dance, Indie Rock

The band started off with a drummer, a bassist, and a vision. Tim and Kevin wanted to combine the smooth rock of Minus the Bear with the funky soul of Earth, Wind, and Fire. They slaved away creating grooves and rhythms they hoped would tickle the fancy of listeners and force static hips everywhere to start shakin and shimmyin. As time went on, they realized something was missing. The music needed some shine, a spark, a twinkle of sorts. They searched high and low for that missing link. They traveled to Gabon and sang with lions. They spoke in foreign tongues and danced to the beats of drums in the Amazonion rain forrests. Their search was long and tiresome. As they grew tired, the romantic foundations of Far Away Planes began to form. With their resources exhausted and their spirits faultering, they took a risk few would dare. With their ad posted on CraigsList, they sat in a Purgatory of fear and excitement. Days went by, and all hope seemed lost, until they received a signal in their inbox. It was an "email", as the kids call them these days. An "email" from the soon to be lead singer, John Ketcham. With a singer in place, the band felt secure. Shows were booked, songs were written, tears were shed. A force still pulled these Far Away Planes. Their destiny felt defined, but as you may know, no destiny is ever secure. Two lone wolves were found in John and Luke that would add the spicy paprika the Planes had been looking for all along. Ever since fate brought them together, the group has been playing in Gainesville and around Florida sharing their passions with whoever may care to listen.
