ETCETERA, a native of Brooklyn, New York, first hit the scene working with one of the hip hop industry's legends and platinum acclaimed producers Kwame’. He continued on to become a dynamic artist/writer. Later he added an arsenal of new successful producers such as Domingo, Young Seff, Jlace and Around One Productions to his personal projects, as well as his writing and producing for other artists.
During this time ETCETERA has made the transition from independent artist to a major label entertainer. His first two singles in 2008 "Take U There" and "Dance Like That" catapulted him into the mainstream pop/urban culture. The follow up “OMG” (Throw Ya Handz Up) brought back his hip hop roots that showed his fans another side of his talents. To follow that ETCETERA reunited with his mentor to release his ground breaking single HIGHER produced and featuring KWAME himself.
ETCETERA has been the moniker in his craft for quite some time. Catapulting himself from underground status to main level standards, the Brooklyn boy wonder has done a whole lot in a small amount of time and is set to do more. Currently involved in music, sliding over to movie roles, creating his own women’s fragrance as well bring a motivating role model ETCETERA is a new design of a triple threat.
Outside of being an artist, he spends his time investing and developing the lives of young men and women who have athletic talents. In 2006, ETCETERA formed TEAM IDOL a philanthropic arm of his a boutique marketing company (IDOL MUSIC GROUP (IMG) which in turns allows him to give back to his community by breaking athletic stereotypes.
TEAM IDOL became the moniker of a movement determined to help keep one young man in school by sponsoring him in his skateboard venture. Today, TEAM IDOL has now developed into an athletic division that co-sponsors and co-manages athletes in the areas of skateboarding and female basketball, for now.
Recently, ETCETERA (Shawn McClain) was awarded with the 2010 Young, Gifted & Black (YGB) Entrepreneurial Award for his impact in the community by helping many young men and women excel in the area of sports and academics. ETCETERA was also presented a proclamation by Senator Eric Adams of New York City for his involvement in youth development, as well as his participation in the projected project development of a skate park in Prospect Park in New York City. So as you can see, this Brooklyn native has been an influenced by the best and will in turn be an influence to those around him.
ETCETERA has appeared on the cover of the GRAMMY Edition PROTÉGÉ Magazine, The Main artist Power 105.1’s CHUCK DOGGS presents CHARACTERS WELCOME Mixcd, which did phenomenal numbers. A Guest appearance and Judge on Time Warner Cable show “Star or Bizarre”, several movie soundtracks and more.
