Eon Smit was born and raised in Jamaica, where he still resides; he is distracted by his thoughts, confused by his ominous economic future, lead astray by a fleeting self-identity, and misguided by societies proverbial norms. Eon’s carefree charismatic adolescent quality of life is being threatened everyday. The fact that he is constantly misunderstood only adds to the real threat of the suicide watch. When did this bright eyed, well-mannered, young man loose control? To answer this question we have to shake his family tree.
Eon is the biological son to reggae sensation Garnet Damion Smith aka Garnett Silk. Garnett loved his community and family so much that he sacrificed his life in an attempted to save his mother’s. Identifying the slew of uncanny parallels between father and son is not a difficult task; both throw themselves into songwriting. Eon Smit keeps his father Garnett Silk’s music, spirit, and legacy alive today.
Eon has mastered the art of writing about what is important to him. His ability to disassociate fantasy, reality, and social ideals has left this masterful songwriter a little off tune. He has amassed an enormous pile of guilt and self-pity; a condition of discontent we often find in gifted young adults.
Creativity and innovation runs in his blood stream… He simply interacts with the world differently than everyone else.
