Spending three years writing, recording, and touring after the release of his first two albums to successful reviews, Don released “Photographs of 1971” this past year. An ode to both his family and the grand themes of the role family plays in life, he was inspired by a box of old tattered photographs from the 70’s that had been packed deep in a closet for years. Yellowing and bordered and date-stamped, these photos sparked a creative streak that Don had been looking for after the road-themes and wanderlust of “The Lonestar Hitchhiker” and “Lonestar Companion.”
XM Radio’s highly successful “The Loft” quickly championed the new record, and Don continues to slowly expand his audience to a loyal group who discover his music. Look for another new album by years end that he plans on recording in Nashville.
