Dennis Gurwell is a product of the Bakersfield, CA area. He has been playing in various types of bands since the mid-60's. He moved to the Los Angeles area in the late 1960's and has been there ever since. He has played in a variety of Rock, Country, Celtic and Zydeco bands during that time.

On these recordings, Dennis plays Keyboards, Accordion, Guitar, and Bass, in addition to Vocals. He was ably assisted in these recordings by guitarists Lazy Brad Lewis, Gregg Wright, Ron dePalma, drummers Andre Allen and Chris Ross, trumpet player Doug Gurwell, clarinetist Phil Feathers, trombonist Mike Dageaux, and pedal steel guitar player Bob "Boo" Bernstein.

Dennis presently plays accordion with Bonne Musique Zydeco and the Martinez del Rio Band, and keyboards and accordion with Blues artist Lightnin' Willie & the Poor Boys. He has also worked with guitarist/producer Pete Anderson, and Austin, Texas-based singer/songwriter Billy Eli. He is slated to play some accordion tracks on Billy Eli's next recording project which will begin in May of 2012.
