Davide Van De Sfroos, born in Monza in 1965, grew up at Mezzegra, the English “heartland” around Lake Como. Almost all his songs are about the lake, its profound spirit, its shores, both dirty and clean, its light and shade, and they take in all the lakeside towns and villages, without ever losing sight of the city of Como itself. Most of the lyrics are conceived, written and sung in the local patois (tremezzino or laghée: a language rather than a dialect).
