BEHIND THE VIOLIN...
Talent is a gift, and Daniel D. discovered his early in life when he first drew a bow across the strings of a violin at 12 years-old. Raised in Charleston, South Carolina, Davis graduated from the city’'s esteemed School of the Arts in 2007. He immediately set off on a nationwide tour with T-Bone Ministries. Daniel has also studied at New York’'s Juillard School of Music. In 2009, Daniel released his first Album 'Play For Me'. Soon afterwards he was sought out to open for Jamie Fox and Kanye West on B.E.T's 106 & Park. He was later asked to do a spotlight performance for 106 & Park, and he won first place at the 2009 Apollo that same night. In addition, he's performed for Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, T.V. host Larry King, and for Michael Jackson at Jessie Jackson’s birthday party. In 2010 Daniel released his latest album, ‘Serenade,’ which has an R&B feel. Since then he has continued to perform around the country.
Daniel’s notable audience is no accident. Daniel D. makes his violin sound unlike anything you’'ve ever heard before. “"Upon first seeing him live, your jaw will drop. High fives and awed, wide-eyed looks to the people around you will follow. Then you start to groove — - fully captivated until the moment he lowers his instrument and takes a bow."” Daniel's faith lies at the core of his music. A seasoned entertainer at just 22 years old, he is equally comfortable performing for an audience of 50,000 at USC's Williams-Brice Stadium as he is playing at his family'’s church on Sunday. Despite his successes, Daniel remains a humble young man. He is the first to tell you that the pure joy of playing music far surpasses prestige or recognition. “Every opportunity to play offers new enlightenment and a chance to learn,” says Davis. “I love performing and I love playing — period."
