Started out as an instrumentalist, learned other things to keep working. Currently working w/my duo partner, Richard Dennis (see Pic), at the classic dive "Dear John's" in Culver City, Ca. (corner of Sepulveda & Culver Bl.). First published in Canada w/songwriting partner KimCote. Our single "Big, Good Lookin' Mamasita" (see Pics & Video) is available also at Soundclick. Love all kinds of genres, as long as they're good! (Please see below for reviews of DC Hall and his duo "Dean & Richard").
"I love you.
I walked in for the first time in a while last friday night and realized how friggin' amazing this place really was. They sat me and my boyfriend in a cozy booth. The best booth in the house as far as I'm concerned and here's why: The only thing in between us and Dean and Richard was a table with a cougar, a 90 year old woman and a midget. Best ever. Dean (I think? The keytar player?) was flirting with the awesome cougar and even let her tinkle his keytar during a rousing rendition of "Dancin' In The Moonlight". All in all, great night, great spot."
(Beverly M. Fan of DC Hall and "Dean & Richard" at Dear John's. "Yelp" review, 2009).
"The Best of all though is that "Dean & Richard" are there every Friday and Saturday night and they are the Best Entertainers in town! They both play horns, keyboards and stuff and play all of our old favorites, everything from Glen Miller to Johnny Cash and Toby Keith. Dean was born to entertain and couldn't ask for a better backup man than Richard. If you go, ask them about the Keytar." (Lance H. "Yelp" review. 2010)
"To our delight, during the break between sets, Dean sat down with us and chatted. Dean and Richard cover a blend of jazz standards, 70s pop and both classic and contemporary country." (Viva K. A fan of DC Hall on "Yelp", 2011).
Now, I have been to Dear John's on a Friday night, to see Dean and Richard play! And I have decided I want to spend every Friday night of the rest of my life at Dear John's! The music was fun (you definitely want to request "Ring of Fire"!), there were just the right amount of people in the place for a low key evening, and there is NO SCENE WHATSOEVER here! It's great! (Miki W. "Yelp" review, 2012).
