On July 7, 2011, Cutting Edge accomplished a feat that no other indie band has ever accomplished and in fact, very few major recording artist. On that date, Cutting Edge debuted two songs on the Billboard Single Song Sales Chart with "Without You" charting at #17 and "If The Walls Could Talk" at #20. Billboard stated that they do not know of any other indie band who had accomplished this feat.
Cutting Edge originally exploded on the music scene with the album, "Humongously Yours", which had the hit singles, "Love Police" and "Without You", which both hit inside the top 20 at commercial radio stations in the U.S. The album had a total of five releases, with four charting in various other countries. Those songs were "It's Time", "Abuse of Power", "Judas of D.C." and the song that is now a hit song after 12 years, "If The Walls Could Talk".
One thing that is interesting about "Without You" is it has charted three different times for the band. In 1999 "Without You" hit #26 on the R&R charts and #20 on Gavin. Three years later, a college syndicated radio show began to play the song and before anyone knew it, commercial radio stations picked it up a second time and it charted at #16. Now, on July 7, 2011 "Without You" has charted a third tie on the Mediabase Breakout Charts at #1, while also entering the Billboard Charts at #17.
Another album "the Big 14 N' More had the hit singles "Every Time I Try", which hit #6 at U.S. commercial radio stations and "Body Talk" and "Venomous Love Affair" which had success in theinternational market. "Censored by the U.S. Government" exploded at college radio and the band is now preparing to release the new live album, "Cutting Edge Is Alive" to college radio stations in the fall.
