Cheryl Allison has been singing and composing music for as long as she remembers. Having sung her first solo in church at the age of 5, she knew music gave her life meaning. She began playing piano at 5 years old, cello at 9 and voice lessons at 12. During college, she gained professional experience by performing in the local musical theatre productions in Dallas, Tx. and singing with the FORT WORTH OPERA.
Upon graduating with her Bachelors and Masters in Vocal Performance, she moved to NYC where she had the privilege of performing in BROADWAY and REGIONAL THEATRES PRODUCTIONS for over 10 years. Cheryl can be heard as a soloist on the RCA/VICTOR Original Cast Recording of "CHILDREN OF EDEN" written by STEPHEN SCHWARTZ and starring STEPHANIE MILLS.
She started a band during this time and performed in NYC at such notable clubs including The Bitter End, Mercury Lounge, The Bottom Line, Kenny's Castaways, Rock Ridge and La Bar Bat. She had the privilege of opening for the band Betty in NYC. She came in 2nd out of 500 bands in the WDRE-92.7 Rock to the Top Contest.
After relocating to Los Angeles, she sang as a session singer for numerous media companies including DISNEY CHANNEL, BET (BLACK ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION), TLC (THE LEARNING CHANNEL), COLUMBIA PICTURES HOME VIDEO, AUTONOMY POST PRODUCTION and FIRSTCOM MUSIC, a division of UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP. Most recently she has recorded and performed with world renowned violinist and Hollywood Bowl Concertmaster, Robin Olson.
Cheryl recently signed a licensing agreement with 1000TRACKS.COM, a divison of e5 Music.
Cheryl has one 12 awards so far on Garageband.com including 3 Best Female Vocals and 3 Track of Days and most recently Track of the Week. She just released her new EP "YEARS LATER" which was co-produced by Robin Olson and Craig Lyons and recorded at Studio Q in West Hollywood, CA.
