Black Oak Hymnal is an acid folk/death country/psychedelic duo from San Diego, CA USA. Grafton Silos and Butch Johandson met while playing in another outfit and, while collaborating on a side project, decided to commit full-time to the duo. They took on the name Black Oak Hymnal and the side project in question resulted in their first album, Hand Drawn Map Through A Killer's Heart. Since then, they've released their second effort, My Central Valley Blood Brother.
