Kenich Lee born August 17, 1985), known mononymously as Black Mattic, is a Jamaican recording artist and actor. Born Kingston, Jamaica, his professional recording career began when he met Jive record writer/producer Joylon Skinner in late 2003. At age 13, he came to the United States to pursue a recording career and began recording demo tapes under Skinners' guidance, subsequently forming his own recording company Official Hitz Entertainment with his partner Torrey Province.
His first hit single Never Give Up, was produced by Tray R and released by his record label in April 2010.
Black Mattic’s debut studio album, Hot Grabba was released in (2010), which boast his career worldwide. (2010) He peaked on the top 20 reggae charts in Spain. In (2011) Black Mattic released his first solo mix tape titled “Kingston 11” which racked in nearly 2 million downloads and was ranked top 40 in releases for 2012.
His latest video “Superstar,” directed by Mike Leonard has created quite the hype since it’s release. The song, off of his “Black Label.” album, depicts Black Mattic among some of his finest luxuries.
In early 2012 CEO and Founder Black Mattic form (OHMG) Official Hitz Music Group, under the parent company Official Hitz Entertainment as the primary division to govern over the music venture for the firm.
Black Mattic sophomore album “Black Label” is set to release on May 7th 2013, which will be recorded in OHMG recording studios in New York. The sophomore album will be mix by ‘Di architect” and mastered by Tony Gillis from The Cutting Room Recording Studio's in New York City.
