More on the band...

Much as the culinary world is seeing a progression towards organic and locally grown ingredients, the world of popular music is seeing a trend toward bands and sounds that are more homegrown. Artists are increasingly reaching down to the roots of American music to reinvigorate their style, creating a whole new genre known as Roots Rock.

In that way, the Artie Tobia — Artie Tobia on vocals and guitar, Stuart Stahr on drums, Mark Bridgman on bass and Mark Barden on guitar — are far ahead of the curve, fusing real stories of real people with the musical influences of rock, blues, folk and country, the roots of modern American music.

And, in the same way as other popular bands (Zac Brown, John Hiatt, Nickleback ) have seen their popularity grow, Artie Tobia has been building a dedicated following worthy of their intricate and sincere music. Their latest effort “Chase the Sun,” is a semi auto biographical musical novel telling the story of the main character the Vagabond. Who serves as a surrogate for Tobia.

The Artie Tobia Band has claimed the Best of the Gold Coast Award for Best Rock Band for fourth year in a row. Fuse TV’s Unsigned On Demand Series named“Vagabond,” a winner making it available on Fuse On Demand during June / July this summer. But they work hard for their successes, playing shows more than 200 nights a year — shows that have earned them a considerable reputation as a live act with some real solid chops.
