Voyage de Sahar is my second favorite after Le Pas du Chat Noir. This music grows on you with every listen. For those intersted, I am posting some "derivatives" of his music: In the clssical one canot ignore hearing traces of Ravel, Debussy, certainly Satie logically all French, all French influenced. Moving on to Jazz, I hear Jarret, Haden, Gismonti, strong traces of Piazzola, and there's one album, which if you can find it, will blow you away! Hampton Hawes and Charlie Haden recorded some time ago and no longer, I think, in active circulation. Lastly, there's a French guitarist who is not well known to many, but who has recorded extensively, his name is Pierre Bensusan. If you can get a hold of any of his albums, by all means do so. What else can you say, Brahem's music is beautiful, evocative, melancholic. Simple melodies, usually on the piano, followed by an "unravelling of said melody, turned into caos, and then returning to original peaceful, meditative state.It's like a journey into the soul.
