Genre:
Christian/Gospel, singer/songwriter

THE BAND: family band / young, ranging in age from 12 to 19 / gifted musicians and songwriters / passionate about making music with a meaningful message / their sound molded by multicultural influences and their lyrics guided by the good news of God's redemptive love for mankind. Their sound has been compared to Matt Maher, Sanctus Real, Starfield, Britt Nicole and Barlow Girl.

Although they are all members of one family, their writing and playing styles are as different as the cultures that influence them and passion is what fuels their bounding creativity. The best word to describe their sound is fusion, and the best word to describe their lyrics is timeless.

THE STORY: Having come from a family background of singing, Daddy Mondy saw his 6 childrens' musical talent before they did. That creative ability first sprung up in the form of drawing, and clay sculpting. Knowing the expanding promise in the cgi (computer generated imagery) industry, Daddy Mondy guided the childrens’ drawing talent into 2D and 3D cgi. Three of the boys started their first home based business selling 3D models. This cgi talent later proved to be invaluable in the band's website designs, music videos, and marketing plans.

Musical interest sprung up when a youth band was forming at the church they attended. Micaiah and Daniel wanted to be a part, but they weren’t prepared. A church youth leader encouraged them to go home and learn the guitar. And that's exactly what they did. The boys searched the internet with a fervor for cds, tutorials, on line courses and books to feed their veracious appetite to learn to play guitar.

Although they never got to be part of the church youth band, they did enter a talent contest in the yearly festival in their hometown. Angela, just 10 years old, placed 2nd with a piano rendition (learned entirely by ear) of Bill Withers’ “Lean on Me“.

In the following year's talent contest, Angela (then 11), placed third playing a piano composition entitled "Gymnopede" by French composer, Erick Sate, another piece learned by ear. Daniel (then 15), won first place playing acoustic guitar and singing “How to Save a Life“ by the Fray. Priscilla (then 13), placed second with her newly formed 3 piece band as she played acoustic and sang “Never Alone” by Barlow Girl. This was all before guitar lessons came into play with a private instructor. Within months, their instructor said he could teach them no further and turned them over to professional instruction through cds.

More lessons and a growing passion to play followed as the children began writing songs and performing their songs: at a family wedding reception, area churches and even a performance on Chicago Access Network TV.

Daddy Mondy, seeing their passion and talent, provided them with better instruments and admonished them to perfect their writing, singing and musical skills and also learn computer software to help them record their songs in the home studio they had built. At their music tracking session, the engineer marveled at how well organized and disciplined the children were and commented that they were "a producer's dream".

Daddy Mondy also taught them business ethics and stressed the rule of integrity in the music industry emphasizing above all, "If you're not gonna be real with God, don't even pick up an instrument." Spiritual housecleaning keeps the waters flowing.

Their first band website was designed by their brother Jeremiah, the band’s audio/video guru, where 7 original songs were debuted. The cgi studio not only began music video production but also began developing a plan to market their music. This website exposure resulted in an invitation to open for christian rocker, Michael McClead at a christian event center, Daniel’s Den in Plano, Illinois. They were also among performers at a youth rally in Joliet, IL where IL State Senator A.J. Wilhelmi expressed his appreciation for the role model that the band was setting for youth; a purpose that was close to their heart.

Having just completed recording 11 original songs for their debut cd entitled, “Don't Have to Worry”, it's full steam ahead with the construction of the new band website and the first of many music videos. With more songs already being penned for their next cd, the sky is the limit for this faith focused family.
