The Second Coming

Three years have passed since the pack of drunk punks collectively known as 5 Star Grave released their first album entitled “Corpse Breed Syndrome”, a record that received a great feedback from both media and fans for its recklessness, freshness and strong energetic vibe.

Most of this time has been spent by the band developing a strong fanbase through intense live shows and a massive web presence, besides writing down new material to push even further the already wide boundaries of their gruesome musical vision.

Now, after three years of wait, this is what basically the new album, properly entitled “Drugstore Hell”, represents: a refinement of an already addictive and winning formula, able to combine exteme vocal aggression with catchy light-hearted melodies, a pounding rhythm section mixed with industrial keyboards and a sharp guitar work, all merged together in a boiling high-octane cauldron.

The willingness to melt together different styles such as heavy metal, thrash, punk rock and industrial atmospheres without losing a personal identity is the main theme of the new album, that benefits of an impressive production by the award winning producer Tobias Lindell (known for his work with world famous acts like Europe, Hardcore Superstar, Crashdiet an so on) who mixed and mastered the 11 new songs at the Bohus Sound Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden, granting the record a top notch quality and an extremely aggressive sound.

Lyrics-wise the attitude of the band has not changed at all and still represents a middle finger straight in the face of everything that can be considered politically correct; questioned about the message they want to spred with their music the six punks stated: “Our music shall and will contain content that might be considered sexually gratuitous, profane, unlawful, defamatory, libellous, abusive, incendiary, sexually offensive, obscene or that might be considered to be harassment, abuse or a threat against the personal safety or property of others.”
