Unlike other commercial ploys, Devo created their sound and images in a simplistic form and integrated a preschool mentality to show appeal. If they weren't truly individuals themselves and intellects, then this comment hold no foundation. They manipulated the media- and like the Factory understood the banality plus need to conform while giving a package. Devo was one of the first- they set the standard and deconstructed it while making records. The hidden genius of their work, remains covered in a futuristic "costume".
