Comments on Tommy James & The Shondells

.....just a garage band that grew into their sound and became a tighter group after a couple of years of MATURITY.....BUT by that the SOUND of that time had moved on without them......heard them at TnTechU in 1971 and they were GOOD, BUT had to stop playing after an hour because TJAMES got SO drunk on stage (nerves)......they performed for$5,500, so we booked them instead of the SUPREMES who wanted $8000.....which we could not afford at that time.......can you BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!the SUPREMES.......how DARE they demand SUCH an amount of money from POOR college students......(just another WILD memory from a 60's grad............jj@NV
